So it should come as no surprise that I would want to check the Victor Chandler site out and see what they were offering for World Cup betting punters.

I was disappointed not to find a World Cup betting new customer promotion mentioned on the home page. In fact, there was no mention of the World Cup at all. For a sports betting company with a reputation like Victor Chandler has, this was quite unexpected. So I decided to drill down into the site to see if the World Cup had a mention anywhere. I suspected it did.

I found what I was looking for on their Football Specials page. Their prices were in line with everyone else’s for outright World Cup winner, with Spain and Brazil listed as favourites. But it was their special markets that provided some interesting World Cup betting opportunities.

World Cup “Border Clash” pits the U.S. against Mexico in an opportunity to bet whether either or both teams will make it to the last 16 (none: 3/1, One: 10/11, and Both: 21/10).

World Cup “Too Far East” was another interesting World Cup betting opportunity to pick whether any of Japan, North and South Korea will make the last 16 (None: 10/1, One: 1/1, Two: 8/1, and All: 90/1).

World Cup punters can also bet on the continent winner with Europe topping the list at 4/9, North & Central America in the middle at 50/1, and Australia trailing the pack at 150/1 at the time I visited.

I like to see World Cup betting sites show a little more excitement towards the event than Victor Chandler is showing, and a new customer or World Cup match bet promotion would have been nice. But it’s still worth signing up with Victor Chandler just to get a crack at their unique special markets in my opinion.
